General Information
COPERT 4 is a software tool used world-wide to calculate air pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions from road transport.
The development of COPERT is coordinated by the European Environment Agency (EEA),
in the framework of the activities of the European Topic Centre for Air Pollution
and Climate Change Mitigation. The European Commission's Joint Research Centre
manages the scientific development of the model. COPERT has been developed for official road transport emission inventory preparation in
EEA member
countries. However, it is applicable to all relevant research, scientific and academic applications.
The COPERT 4 methodology is part of the
EMEP/EEA air pollutant emission inventory guidebook for the calculation of air pollutant emissions and is consistent with the
2006 IPCC Guidelines for the calculation of
greenhouse gas emissions. The use of a software tool to calculate road transport emissions allows for a transparent and standardized,
hence consistent and comparable data collecting and emissions reporting procedure, in accordance with the requirements of international
conventions and protocols and EU legislation.
You can purchase COPERT countries data from our online store.
The vehicle fleet national data provided by EMISIA SA can be used for the compilation of national emission inventories and are compatible with the COPERT model. They reflect our best knowledge of national situation in each country. They have been compiled using information from a number of sources.
COPERT is a user-friendly MS Windows software application to calculate emissions from road-transport. The software contains all necessary emission factors, the methodology and calculation algorithm to estimate total road-transport emissions on a national, regional or urban level at a year to day-long time resolution.
SIBYL has been envisaged as a vehicle stock projection tool with internal energy consumption, emission and cost estimation capabilities. SIBYL focuses on user interaction and visual representation of user – defined metrics offering full customization of input parameters and scenarios. A detailed EU-wide vehicle stock baseline database has been hardcoded in the application so that the user can evaluate custom scenarios on real – life data.
TREMOVE GUI is a Microsoft Windows software programme developed to improve accessibility of the TREMOVE model by simplifying and automating some of the core operations of the model via a graphical interface.
