The report “Fuel quality monitoring in the EU in 2021” was prepared for the European Environment Agency (EEA) by EMISIA, a member of the European Topic Centre on Climate change mitigation (ETC/CM). This annual report of the EEA provides a summary of the information on the quality of fuels in the European Union (EU) in 2021, as reported in 2022 by EU Member States, Iceland, Norway, and the United Kingdom (Northern Ireland) – under Directive 98/70/EC relating to the quality of petrol and diesel fuels (the Fuel Quality Directive, FQD), as amended by Directive 2009/30/EC.
